Where did you Just Get Back from? Costa Rica. We had the most fabulous family vacation!
When were you in Costa Rica? June 2015.
Words to describe what you felt when you first arrived: Excited to be back in Costa Rica but this time with the kids, different vacation completely.
Where did you stay? Hotel Parador Resort and Spa, in Quepos.
With whom would you recommend staying at this hotel / resort? It’s perfect for a multi-generational trip. The hotel has recently renovated all of the rooms and suites, and we were very impressed. Such a beautiful hotel with the most amazing views surrounded by 12 acres of wildlife-rich tropical rainforest. This property also has its own private beach, a GREAT spa a gym, yoga in the jungle, two adult pools and one swim up pool. The service was incredible, all of the staff were super friendly and helpful.
Tempt us- Name the most special place you discovered on this trip: The resort itself, we didn’t need to go to Manuel Antonio National Park… we had all of the wildlife right outside of our rooms – including three species of monkeys (Titi, Whiteface, and Howler or Congo), two and three-toed sloths, Anteaters, Agouti, Armadillos, and a wide range of amphibians and reptiles.
What’s the best time of year to go in your opinion? We went in the “rainy season” but only had rain in the evenings, amazing thunder and lightning storms. But the “season” for Costa Rica is December to April.
Anything else to add? We also did an overnight in Monteverde – Cloud Forest. Definitely worth the 17 miles on an unpaved road up the mountain! Very wet and a lot cooler, great hiking through the forest some of the plant life looked almost alien. Should have stayed longer, so much to see, definitely will spend more time on our next visit.
